Mahaim-type accessory pathway and right bundle branch electroanatomic delineation
Figure 1 Electroanatomic activation map during RA stimulation (A) before and (B) after MAP ablation. Signals obtained at the ablation catheter located at the free lateral wall are shown. MAP anatomical disposition (yellow dots). Right bundle branch anatomical disposition (blue dots). M =mahaim accessory pathway potential; MAPd = distal ablation catheter recording; MAPp = proximal ablation cathe...
متن کاملRadiofrequency catheter ablation of right atriofascicular (Mahaim) accessory pathways guided by accessory pathway activation potentials.
BACKGROUND Accessory pathways (APs) exhibiting "Mahaim fiber" physiology (antegrade conduction only, long conduction time, and decremental properties) often connect the lateral right atrium to the right bundle branch (right atriofascicular pathways). Potentials from these pathways have not been recorded previously. The purpose of this study was to determine whether AP activation potentials coul...
متن کاملParasystole in a Mahaim Accessory Pathway
Automaticity has been described in Mahaim pathways, both spontaneously and during radiofrequency ablation. We describe an unusual case of automatic rhythm from a Mahaim pathway presenting as parasystole. The parasystolic beats were also found to initiate tachycardia, resulting in initial presentation with incessant tachycardia and tachycardia induced cardiomyopathy.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy's (HCM) association with sudden cardiac death is well recognised. The risk of sudden cardiac death is known to increase when there is a history of unexplained syncope, abnormal blood pressure response during exercise, severe left ventricular hypertrophy or a family history of unexplained death. Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) implantation has been widely...
متن کاملIncomplete Right Bundle-Branch Block
Incomplete right bundle-branch block (IRBBB) usually is thought to be associated with abnormalities of the peripheral Purkinje system. This paper discusses the results of a study of six dogs from the same family and three nonrelated dogs with congenital IRBBB. Cardiac catheterization data were normal, and no evidence or history of cardiac disease was found before or after death. The depolarizat...
